One farm we definitely going will be The Lavender Cottage. This place still linger in my mind after seeing it on a Taiwanese variety show years ago.

Ticket was booked via Tiger Airway at $650 for two pax after all these taxes and surcharge. The fee for convenient (credit card) charge has been raised from $6 to $8 per pax per trip and there is no way you can escape, so $32 to the bank for secure online payment, thanks to government regulation.

Boss Chinese New Year treat at the famous 波记 Por Kee Tiong Bahru.

Yu Sang! Still craving for this even though CNY is kind of over.

Amazing platter with everything irrepressible.

Signature and famous coffee rib. Can see the 肥油 or not? So juicy, they added honey and the sauce taste like bak gua.

Shark fin soup lots and lots of crab meat

Another cannot be missed dish, cereal prawn.

Favorite sea cucumber and fish maw, so glad the people at my table didn't appreciate the goodness from the sea. All collagen for me please :)

Live fish, Thai style , there is a soup base to be poured over and let it boil.

Mad love ornee yam cream. A heather version, thank god they didn't use lard, i put on too much weight this new year already.

Happy Dragon Ang Bao Day

初四 was my company's ang bao day, they invited dragon dance and everyone are encourage to wear red for the ang bao day photo contest.

I am in my ever first cheong sam dress with my domestic data product ladies.

Prawning on 初一

Went prawning with my cousins, aunt and mum in the middle of the night after the gathering. Including my brother, we have four dragon babies in 1988, since then four of them has been a pillar for each other. They have grown up, turning 24 this year.

Aunt's first time here. It was nice, we prawn, BBQ, chat till 5+ 6 am the next day.

Pineapple Tart Without Pineapple

Pineapple tart without pineapple, my granny pass this to me when i visit. So touched, they still remember i like this since young, my special order. I should totally bring her out to do her favorite 兴化 lunch in Kitchener road someday.

Chinese New Year 初一

A must have for the husband's heritage on 初一, 떡국 ttok guk rice cake soup with egg and seaweed shred.

I am using carrot fed chicken's egg, that explained the color of the yoke, supposed to be more healthy and contains vitamin A.

A tub of my aunt home made pineapple tart

Gourmet bak gua (bacon) at a premium price, 300g for $22 during CNY period. Very oily, very sinful, very satisfying after a few bites.

We cruised down to Frassler factory to collect my pre-booked 2kg ($83)of salmon sashimi.

So fresh, cant help but we ate some before bringing the platter to my granny's place.

Frozen soup pack was good, contain lots of ingredient for $3.50, feed 2.

步步惊心

Was addicted to 步步惊心 this lunar new year. A story about time travel and Kang Xi emperor's son fighting for throne. The husband and me "cheong" finish this whole drama within 3 days on Viki.

My favorite is 八贝勒, what about you?

Rumors say they are shooting a part two in the modern world, woohoo!

Tsukene Ichigo

This is a Japanese place i always wanted to visit ever since we moved in to Tiong Bahru. Taukene Ichigo have this very heavy wooden doors that forever remain closed and that made me very curious about the food inside. A restaurant that gives off a not welcoming aura is mysterious.

Mentaiko onigiri

Tako wasabi, perfect with a mug of Hite.

Yakitori with radish and vinegar sauce. This is a major disappointment for a yakitori specialty shop. They look and tasted so different from the yakitori leader in cuppage.

Udon with radish mesh and yoke, looks yummy but taste was mild. I am expecting more for the price i paid.

Yakitori with mentaiko mayo. I wonder they yaki (grill) the chicken or boil it, fast food chain ToriQ machine can do a better job than they did.

I guess i am only paying for exclusivity, the place is packed with Japanese uncles drinking after work. Food is horrible and they didn't even serve pork yakitori.
